As the year comes to a close, we can’t help but take a moment to soak it all in—a year of wins, lessons, and laying the groundwork for what’s next.

2024 wasn’t just about checking off feature requests; it was about setting the stage for something bigger, better, and more connected. Every update, enhancement, and new capability this year was a step toward building a platform that lets you engage your users in smarter, more meaningful ways.

Before we get to that, a celebration of what our amazing teams cooked up:

Helping users feel at home with mobile localization

For mobile users, nothing drives frustration faster than an app that doesn’t speak their language—figuratively and literally. High abandonment rates make localization a critical need—if users can’t engage comfortably, they’re likely to leave.

That’s why we introduced localization for mobile apps. It’s designed to break down language barriers and deliver experiences that feel seamless and personal, no matter where your users are or what language they speak.

Why it matters:

Mobile apps often see high churn because users expect experiences that meet their needs right away. Localization ensures your app feels accessible and welcoming, helping you retain users and build loyalty.

New features:

  • Localize your way: Upload and download XLIFF files to manage manual translations.
  • Translate in seconds with AI: Let automation handle the heavy lifting.
  • Support right-to-left languages: Automatically adjust layouts and text alignment for languages like Hebrew or Arabic.

See the bigger picture with account-level insights

With Accounts, you can finally understand how organizations interact with your product—not just individual users. It’s all about giving you the context to engage better, target smarter, and prioritize what really matters.

Why it matters:

It’s hard to spot patterns or prioritize which organizations need attention without seeing the whole picture. Accounts let you zoom out to see what’s working (and what’s not) for whole companies, not just individual users.

New features:

  • Organization-wide tracking: See how companies use your product.
  • Smart segmentation: Target experiences by account-level properties like size, revenue, or industry.
  • Account health insights: Quickly identify which accounts are engaged and spot churn risks.

Align your messages with an enhanced HubSpot integration

In-app messaging and email are like peanut butter and jelly—they’re just better together. This year, we leveled up our HubSpot integration so you can align your in-app experiences and email workflows for maximum impact.

Why it matters:

Disconnected tools create delays, missed opportunities, and extra work. Syncing your in-app and email strategies helps you act faster and engage better.

New features:

  • Act on feedback: Send NPS scores to HubSpot Contact Profiles to trigger review requests or gather insights from detractors.
  • Track Goals: List users in HubSpot who achieve key product milestones to target them later.
  • Leverage company attributes: Target flows based on HubSpot Company Record attributes like company size, plan tier, or MRR.

Turn feedback into action with easier access to survey responses

Asking good questions is key to understanding your users. That’s why we made surveys even better—so you can gather richer insights and act on them faster.

Why it matters:

We heard customers loud and clear. Without responses right in Appcues, in-app surveys just didn’t feel as powerful. That’s why this became one of our top 5 most requested features—and now, it’s here.

New features:

  • Instant insights: View survey responses right inside Appcues for faster insights (p.s. This was one of our top 5 most common customer requests–consider it done).
  • Flexible question types: Multi-select questions give you more nuanced feedback.

Empower users with no-code Launchpads

Your users don’t always want to wait for help—they want to figure it out themselves. Launchpads make it easy to create on-demand, self-service resource centers right inside your product, no coding required.

Why it matters:

When users can help themselves, they build confidence and stick around longer. Launchpads give them the tools to grow into power users.

New features:

  • No-code setup: Build resource centers without developer help—a key upgrade from our previous Launchpads.
  • Integrated support: Surface helpful content by connecting to knowledge bases like Helpjuice, Zendesk, and Freshdesk.
  • Flexible options: Choose how Launchpads appear with support for inline and embedded Launcher options.

Expand your engagement with multi-channel messaging

And now, the star of the show: multi-channel messaging. ✨ This beta release isn’t just another feature—it’s the future of user engagement at Appcues. In-app messaging has always been at the core of what we do (and always will be) because it’s the single best way to engage users in your product. But users don’t always stay in-app, which is why email and push notifications are the perfect complements—the most effective channels to bring users back.

Together, these channels are two halves of a whole, creating a connected engagement strategy that meets users wherever they are and builds on each interaction to drive deeper engagement.

Why it matters:

Users don’t onboard, adopt, or renew products completely on their own—they need help along the way. The best experiences, whether in-app, email, or push, are rooted in what users are doing. Now, you can create and manage all those messages from one place, ensuring they’re timely, relevant, and impactful.

New features:

  • Integrated channels: Combine in-app, email, and push notifications.
  • Automated workflows: Trigger personalized messages based on real-time user actions.
  • Dynamic personalization: Use branching logic, delays, and sending windows to create complex workflows that adapt to each user’s unique path effortlessly.
  • Analytics: Go beyond message performance—see how entire series of messages drive user behavior.

Small updates, big wins: quality-of-life improvements

The little things make a big difference, and this year we tackled a few tweaks to make your day-to-day smoother:

  • Build user segments from a CSV.
  • Track Flow history for an easy record of changes.
  • Add goals to Events Explorer for sharper insights.
  • Use enhanced iFrame support for better flexibility.
  • Enhance mobile experiences with support for custom components.

Looking ahead: The future is connected

This year, we built the pieces. Next year, we’re putting them together. Connecting every message, every experience, every touchpoint to deliver effortless, personalized engagement for your users and impactful results for your business.

Thank you for being part of this journey—whether you launched your first flow or your hundredth, we’re so glad to have you with us. Here’s to another year of moments that matter. 💜
